After months of testing, Adobe released an adapted Photoshop version for Apple computers on the M1 chip.

Adobe Product Manager Pam Clark said the M1 version is “substantially” faster than the original product. According to her, the test results showed an increase in performance by about 1.5 times. The company tested opening and saving files, working with filters, and selecting objects that require additional computational operations.

Adobe also announced plans to develop and optimize Photoshop for Apple Silicon. Thus, it is planned to develop joint document editing and synchronization capabilities.

Adobe has added a new Super Resolution feature to the Camera Raw plug-in that will allow machine learning to be upscale the original image. A function trained on a large amount of data tries to double the vertical and horizontal resolution.
